Good Army music for website

I'm in the delayed entry program for the Army and the recruiting office in my town asked if I could make them a website......I've got plenty of content for it, but I thought it would be cool to throw in an Army song. I'm particularly fond of this one tune they play on the History channel sometimes when they talk about WW2........I have no idea what it's called but it's basically just drum beats, their may be trumpets and other instruments in the background but it's mostly just drum beats. They played it on their D-Day program, I'm not sure if it's exclusive to the Army. If no one can put a finger on the one I'm talking about but know of other good Army music I could use, let me know.

Background music is annoying, don't use it

When it never ends I'd agree with you, but if it's short and sweet I don't have a problem with music playing on websites...if it's to my liking I imagine I could slap in an option to turn the music off, I'd have to do some reading to figure out how to do that.

I guess it's ok to a point. If you were to make it part of a flash intro to the site it might be kind of nifty.

I dont know what song your talking about, but the peice "Mars" by Gustav Holst would fit in excellently

Actually, I think you should listen closely to that song and try to understand the thoughts behind it.
My Dad and his only two brothers served in WWII. I played the 'Nam game.

Hi guys,

My website stats lead me to this forum. And as the web owner of the link you posted to my St. Barry Sadler song + Eve of Destruction song I just want to say this:

Do you know I get emails from special forces ops thanking me for having those pages up? I'm not sure if they have lap tops or what their internet access is over there, but they do enjoy it.

I would like to say that the pages were put up to help *educate* the kids today of what was sung back in the 60's.

As far as the person who hates music on sites, well in some cases that's true. I don't have it on all pages. But PLEASE REMEMBER...

My site is for kids! Kids love music! I've got classrooms that literally use my website as part of their curriculum because it educates with music, cartoons and makes learning fun.


All of you have a right to not have fervent patriotism. I understand this. But, before you berate a website for something, PLEASE stop and look at the website's total theme?

Brownielocks, welcome and thanks for posting! I actually liked your site quite a bit. The Eve of Distruction link I put up was because I actually love that song. Anyone who goes through some effort to put up something they care about gets marks in my book. It doesn't have to be polished, corporate design. It's sites like yours, independent sites that are put up to express a personal interest or passion that makes the web the rich place it is.

Thanks for posting and thanks for the site that gave us something to link to for the discussion at hand. Hopefully we didn't put you over your bandwidth limits. We do that sometimes.

Well, I pay extra every month to have more bandwidth (due to school classrooms). But that doesn't mean I can tolerate a flooding!
