I know this isn't answering your question about other phones, however, unless you're talking about a brand new phone with USB C or wireless charging, they all use micro-usb. (Even Sony phones! I can't believe they don't use a proprietary charger!)
If you haven't, download "Galaxy Charging Current" to see if it might be a bad cable, charger, or outlet. I couldn't believe the variance between cables and chargers. Some chargers and/or cables, which I thought were fairly high quality, were absolute crap. Other, such as some bundled into $10 pre-paid phones, were fairly impressive. I bought a bunch of LG Hydros years ago. The bundled cables and chargers were fairly high quality for the day. Pretty much worth the whole package at that price.
Like others have said, check to see if the charging pin in the phone is bent or dirty. That is an easy fix.
I had also bought a magnetic micro-usb cable. You can plug the magnetic plug into the phone and leave it there. I was able to get a maximum charge speed with the one I bought.
I have no idea if this one is any good, but here is an example.

Wireless charging is nice. I've never used it before now, with my new Note 7. (I had a magnetic car dock I was unwilling to part with) But, I've conformed.
