Good and bad Heatsinks

Hi, i was wondering if heatsinks could be bad?? We all know that they are supposed to cool stuff off, but in turn do they insulate the thing that they are supposed to be cooling?

Not unless someone put it on wrong. I've read that the new thunderbirds and durons will burn up in just a few seconds without a properly attached heatsink and fan so there is no way a heatsink could be insulating it unless of course it was put on wrong or no thermal compound was used.

I got a G'Orb on my t-bird, it came with a thermal pad, i idle at 25C, i'd like to see the difference grease makes
