Good All-Around 19 Inch LCD

Looking on NewEgg's site this morning, I noticed a few LCD monitors that might fit your needs. First, let me say that the monitors that I will be pointing out all have a DVI (digital) input capabilities. I personally believe that if you are going to purchase a digital device like an LCD monitor, you should hook it up to the digital output of your graphics card and avoid analog completely. Now that I have said this, we can move on.

Here is a link to a search that I did for you on NewEgg's site LINK. Once you narrow down your choices from this list, re-post to this forum and ask some specific questions about the particular monitors. Be sure to tell us what your intentions are with the monitor - this will help us in our responses to your post.

Good Luck.

Thank you for your reply. I'm new to LCD's and don't know much about them. I looked through your list of monitors. The BenQ, in particular, seems to get very good reviews. The monitor will mostly be used for editing photos, gaming, and internet surfing. I am unfamiliar with a lot of the brand names that you listed. Are there other monitors that I should consider? Which one would be best for my needs? It appears that there is a lot of concern about ghosting while playing games on LCD's. The two LCD's below stood out to me.

I think either of the monitors that you have linked to would make a good choice. With the current $60 MIR from NewEgg, the BenQ falls within you price range. Both of these monitors advertise refresh rates of 8 ms. That will limit the possibility of ghosting within games. Manufacturers typically exaggerate their refresh rates, but until you start hitting 20 to 25 ms refresh rates, ghosting should not be a problem. However, some people are more sensitive to ghosting that others.

Both of these manufacturers offer 3-yr warranties on their monitors - that is good. Both also include a DVI cord to connect to your graphics card, and that is good too (don't forget to use the DVI connection instead of the D-sub connection). The Hyundai has a little more versatile stand which will let you rotate the LCD. I am not sure you will use that feature, but it is kind of cool. However, as mentioned above, the BenQ has a $60 MIR, which makes it $60 less than the Hyundai, plus the shipping from NewEgg is free.

In the end, you should decide for yourself which monitor is best for you. I think you will be happy with either one of them.
