Good agp board?

I was going to build a SFF, but not sure thats the route I wanna take anymore so now i'm looking for a good agp board. Now that PCIe is getting big, the agp boards are really slimming down. So what do you think of the following board:

ASUS A8V Socket 939 VIA K8T800 Pro

internals will be
gig of ram
amd 64 3200+ venice core
80 gig hd
geforce 6800oc
 
the asrock939 sata2 uli board for around $60 allows you to keep your agp card and still have the option to upgrade to pcie whenever you please. the downside is it's overclocking maybe not what you'd expect it to do.
 
I'm going from an abit kg-7 raid with an athlon xp 1700+ the jump in power will be enough to where I don't think I'll need to worry about o/c much....for now 🙂 I don't see either of those boards availible on newegg, do they sell them there and i'm just missing it? I'm getting all my other stuff from newegg so if possible I want to keep it all together.... Although I do love MSI boards.
 
Is the MSI K8N NEO2-F 939 essentially the same as the neo2 platinum, what are the differences? Because I found someone locally with that board for $90. It seems to be a good board, and if I got it locally I wouldn't care about having to get it through newegg.

yes that is right, it is an identical board except it lacks a few features like firewire support, but apart from that, this is the board i would recommend. I think the MSI Neo 2 plat has been discontinued, and this is the replacement.
 
Go for a 754 pin board with Nforce 3 250GB. It has AGP and you can get either a Sempron or a A64 chip for a decent price.

You might as well get a socket 939 Venice 3000+ or Opteron 144. Much better feature set and performance, and these are quite cheap.

Actually, the K8N Neo-F has been discontinued. I don't know of any on-line vendor that has any left in stock. I'm not sure if MSI still makes the Neo2 Platinum either, but several vendors still have this board in stock.

They are the same board except that the Neo2 Platinum has on board Firewire (1 in the rear, support for 2 in the front of you case), and also has on board gigabit ethernet, as well as having 2 sepaerate ethernet connections.
Both boards use the same BIOS's, so both have exellent OC'ing ability and Opteron/X2 support with the latest BIOS.

The Neo2-F would be a good choice if you want to get a good OC, but you should also strongly consider the Asrock board. Just having the option to buy a PCI-e card w/out a new MB could end up being very useful. It's always nice to have options.
 
Yeah the only reason I don't go with the asrock is because it will be at least a year before I will get a pci-express card. If I ever play any games that max out my current 6800oc then i'll move to the best agp card, and run that one into the ground or just get a good pci-e card and spend the extra $100 to get a new mobo at that time. $100 isn't much when it comes to buying a $400+ vid card.
