Good, affordable red wine?

I think I'm going to start drinking a cup of wine a day for the health and stress relief benefits.. I know nothing at all about wine and would appreciate a nice red wine recommendation... Affordability is key because I'll be drinking this every day... Thanks!

How about you just buy one bottle and try a few out?

Wine is all about personal preference. Just go to your wine store and pick out a bottle of red wine in your price range. Read the descriptions to see if they sound appealing. Once you find one you like, stick with it a while.

I like the Ecco Domani - Pinot Grigio. It's a white wine, not red, but I like the taste more than a white zinfandel and it's rather inexpensive to boot.

I like Parducci Red for a basic table wine and its really inexspensive if you buy it buy the case. Great for daily consumption.

Try Chilean or Australian wines. The consistent quality and price ratio is unbeatable.

Try out different wines from these countries until you find a wione that matches your taste buds.

Try some Australian Shiraz-Cabernet mixes. They tend to be fairly cheap, at or less than $10, and are nearly always good quality. But, as someone wrote above, it's all about personal preference, so buy some bottles and start drinking to find out what you like.

One hint: You might also want to invest in a vacuum sealer of some sort to keep the wine fresh longer. If you are only planning on one glass a day, the bottle will probably be a little sour by the last glass unless you preserve it somehow.
