How are you learning to play? I took classes, it never stuck with me though. I need to practice more. What method are you going to be using to learn?

Seems to me that everyone who learns how to play guitar starts with "Smoke on the water"

Wish You Were Here is very easy; so easy I can almost play it! (I got the "strum G a few times down pat!)

Smoke on The Water has a very very easy main riff, but beyond that, I have no idea.

Enter Sandman is also very very easy, but sounds awesome when you get it, even on an acoustic.

I learned the song "Short Stories With Tragic Endings" by From Autumn to Ashes when I first got my guitar as well; the intro is a bit tough if your fingers are inflexible, but it's nothing terribly complex or that requires a lot of fret changing.

Just don't try to play Eric Clapton's "Hey Hey" :) That's pretty tough
