Good 550+mhz FSB solution?

I plan on getting an e8400 dual core wolfdale, and need a motherboard recommendation to go along with the chip.
I'm looking for a 550mhz fsb or higher capable board with the lowest cost, and best power circuitry.

I've been told gigabyte x48 dq6
gigabyte x38 dq6
foxconn mars
dfi lanparty ut p35
asus p5b deluxe
Msi neo2 p35 platinum
abit ip35 pro

well basically, ive been told to get a ton of different boards.

Which 45nm capable board will fit my 3 requirements?

1. 550+mhz fsb

2. Good phase power circuitry

3. Low Cost

I was under the assumption almost all boards out right now, and even those coming out soon, have an fsb wall around 450, and if they are really good, maybe 500. Most boards won't be able to do a stable 550.

Highest fsb wall I've seen so far is 500, never seen a 550-600 that doesn't come across a plethora of instability issues or just not running. And how cheap can 45nm ready boards get?

Are you sure that your CPU will do it (I know that there isn't a lot of retail user experience with Penryns yet)?
No point in getting a 600fsb capable board if your CPU won't break 500 ...

Also, will your RAM do it (I think that these sort of speeds are where DDR3 starts becoming viable over DDR2)?
High fsb usually = eased latencies so performance may actually not scale well.

9x550 is near as damn it 5GHz - you are going to need serious cooling, good PSU etc.

None of this equals truly low cost.

thanks for the input... Looks like i'll either be saving some money, or looking for the best "inexpensive" p35 board.

DFI LP X38, DFI LP P35, ASUS P5E3, ASUS P5K-Deluxe, ASUS P5K Premium, ASUS Maximus/Blitz Extreme/Formula, Gigabyte P35-DS6, Gigabyte X38-DQ6, Gigabyte X48-DQ6, Foxconn Mars, Foxconn Blackops.

Foxconn has a new X48 successor to the Mars coming out called Black Ops. It fits requirement 1 (It broke 6GHz with the QX9770) and 2 (8 phase), but will definitely not fit #3.

holy shit, that board is ridiculous, comes with a d-ice tube & active nb cooling & WATER COOLING blocks?

haha

I bet people hit 700mhz+ on it
