I'm thinking an ATI or Matrox. I don't need one with dual VGA out (although, that would be cool) I just need a good PCI card to complement my GeForce3 Ti500 to run my 2nd monitor. 3D isn't a requirement for this card.

:) If you can find a 2nd hand bargain for a 3dfx PCI card then they have excellent 2D IQ, but not so great for new OS's like WinXP. Any PCI gfx card should do, apparently you can use the AGP and PCI card outputs to give dual display, you don't need a card with dual VGA/CRT.

;) Any ATI (built not powered) Radeon should have excellent IQ, Rad9000 cards are the fastest of the cool/quiet runners, but as you say 3D isn't an issue this doesn't matter. GF4MX cards are pretty cheap and have much better IQ than a GF3. But basicly Matrox are the IQ king, and a second hand card should be a steal. Of course you could ditch your GF3 and get a Parhelia which supports 3 monitors right out of the box, of course you only get GF3 perf out of it and it is a tad pricey ... LOL!

Actually, I was aware of the PCI AGP thing, thats what I'm asking about, I've run:
AGP Card, and a PCI card
Dual head AGP Card (GeForce 2 MX)
Agp card with TV out.

What i'm lookin gfor a 2D card to run my 2nd monitor, and maybe a 3rd (not a requirement) I just replaced my dual head GeForce 2 with a Geforce3 Ti 500 and I lost the dual head support. So, I'm looking to get it back, which means going to a PCI card :( So, good 2D PCI cards are what I'm looking for. I'll probably just pick up a 16 or 32Meg ATI or Matrox.

Yea, I found the G400 and the G450 would work, and they support dual head on 1 card, so I can do 3 monitors, which is handy.
