Good 20.1" LCDs?

I think it was Matthias99 who mentioned that resolution scaling can be bettered through lower pixel pitch. I've done some research and the 20.1" monitor's have the lowest that I've seen at .255mm. It's not as good as a CRT, but close. So, I was wondering, besides the Dell 2001fp, which is a bit outdated in its features, which 20.1" monitor is good? Or is the Dell as good as it gets?

If you have a fast video card setup, I suggest the 20 incher. Advantages compared to 19" monitor: a bit higher brightness, slightly better on-off response time, 1600*1200 resolution leading to smaller pixels. The price difference is not outrageous.

I would strongly suggest against a 19". They only have 1280x1024, which is the same as a 17". If you get a 20 inch though, you get 1600x1200 which is really nice on an lcd.

Sceptre has a cheap 20" that runs at 1600x1200 - if you can get it at CostCo for the good return policy, it might be worth looking into.

I went to Best Buy to check out a 20.1" LCD and there was only one per store (I went to 2 of them). One was turned off. And in the other store it was hooked up to a PC with advertisments. But I was able to tell that it wasn't running at native. It wasn't much to look at, but it seemed cleaner than my 1704 at non-native, but still not much of an upgrade.

Yea but whenever you won't be able to use a widescreen resolution in a reasonable way (and in many cases, you won't), it's damn small... Vertically, the 2005FPW is smaller than my 18" inch viewable CRT. In my book, its size totally disqualifies it, but maybe it's just me. Besides, the ViewSonic listed above is faster and has better contrast ratio. Your choice but I don't recommend a widescreen below 23-24". They are really overrated, IMHO.

I think I'll keep my LCD screen for now. I wouldn't get a widescreen anyhow since support is scarce.

You mean for games?
1920x1080 set 1360x1024 1:1 pixel mapping
1920x1200 set 1600x1200 1:1 pixel mapping

Easy.
