Good 1GB stick that I can upgrade to 2GB dual channel later!

I'm looking for a 1GB stick that I can upgrade to a 2GB dual channel later. I want one with reasonable timmings. Also the upgrade will be like 1 and a half months after I by the 1GB or ram.

Buy the fastest and least CAS rated ram. For example, PC5500 CAS 2.5 (if you can find one). Or if you want to save $$$ then go for the Value Ram from Corsair.

Corsair Value Select. I really can't justify spending so much more on a gig of ram when this works so well. i have 2 of them right now, and have had no problems. are you planning on OC'ing a lot? if so, then disregard.

The VS1GB400C3 sticks are more expensive usually, no heat spreader, and are CAS3

The budget recommendation I made is cas2.5 and has spreader for a mere $4 more than the cheapest you can find the Corsair
