I've been looking around, and the Ilyama 454 seems to be the ONLY 19" CRT i can find that is capable of 100hz @ 1600 x 1200 (which are my requirements). I have heard really good reviews on this monitor but I have also heard of some horror stories of people having returned 7 of these monitors in 6 months as they are either faulty or die after a month or two :/

So due to these reliability issues i'm now looking for alternatives. Are there any other 19" CRT's that will do this resolution / refresh rate? I've also heard good things about the 930SB but can't find any available ... and they don't do a high enough refresh @ 1600 x 1200 :(

Any suggestions on other quality monitors woudl be a great help :)

(PS i've search the forums for similar topics but can't find an answer)

100hz @ 1600x1200 is a really high requirement, 75hz is all anyone would really need. why do you need 100hz?

i disagree that 75 is all anyone would need. i cant stand to run lower than 16x12@85 which my monitor does. 100 might be a lil high to shoort for.

100Hz@1600x1200?

I find that pushing the refresh rate up to and over 100Hz causes uneccessary bluriness and loss of color contrast. It'll shorten the monitor's life too.

What he said. you wanting to run v sync on or something? 100 at that res will make for a short monitor life if you find one that supposedly supports that. At that res I would not push a monitor over 75.

I have the Iiyama 454 pro, and pushing the refresh rates this high causes blurriness. I have a cheap 9800pro so that might have something to do with it aswell.
If you run 1280x960 or higher resolution blurriness occur with refresh rates over 85Hz, It doesn't matter that much when gaming but reading text is just painfull. I'm still very happy with it for the color and contrast are superb.

BTW 1600x1200@85Hz is still very good for gaming on this monitor-
