I am a light user and I rarely play games. My old 9700 has always been powerfull enough for my needs.

What would be a good quiet PCI-E card to replace it? I do not need a silent card but I want a card that is as quiet as my 9700 with a Zalman VF700 AlCu fan.

Budget is flexible but I do not want to spent money if I don't have to.

Why not just buy another aftermarket cooling fan? Since I don't know too much about what's quiet and what isn't, I'll just assume you will get a aftermarket cooler. In that case, some options would be:

-If it has to be DX10, then a 8600GT for about $120, or a 8500GT that can barely play games for $70
-Older stuff gives you a lot more power, like an overclocked 7600GT for $80, or an overclocked 7900GS for $105.
-If you can spend a bit more, you can either get a 8600GTS for like $150, or an X1900GT or X1950XT ($130/$150 respectively) that will crush the 8600 series cards.

Fair enough, just realize more often than not that 8600GT will be substantially slower than a 7900GS.
