I'm gonna bo buy a dolby digital reciever tomorrow and wanna know what kinds of things I should look out for. I know about MAX and RMS power, but anything else I should know about?

I'm no audiophille so getting the top notch reciever out there is no concern to me. I'm actually looking to get something that is fairly inexpensive. (300 CDN, roughly $150 US).

Any brands to watch out for? I saw an ad in Future Shop for a Pioneer Dolby Digital reciever for $297 cdn. (I'll try to get the model number)...

any advice?

you might want to look for dts, but not many dvd's support that
for hooking up to your computer, 5.1 analog inputs would be nice
having both optical and coax digital inputs is useful

the kenwood htb-503 that i have (with 5 speakers + powered subwoofer and vr-407 dd/dts receiver with lots of inputs) is $500 at 800.com and it sounds nice
i think you can get the receiver separately too

you should check audioreview.com for reviews
