It does not seem like you should be having any type of performance problems with your current setup. Maybe there is a configuration error... The video card is just fine, and so is the cpu... I doubt that the motherboard could be having that much of a negative effect just on Quake 3. It would have to be something that would be affecting most of your games/applications.

what usually happens is that when i start playing...after about 5 min my system locks up and gotta reboot, or i get kicked out of the game. i was wonderin if that was video problems or just configuration problems

Since you have a 600EB I'm assuming that you are running at 133 FSB. That would put your AGP at 89 Mhz since the BX chipset is only capable of a 2/3 AGP divider. That might be too much for the video card. I had problems with my Gladiac Geforce2 GTS running that fast. The VIA based motherboards let you set the AGP down further, but I can't remember the numbers off of the top of my head.

Post up your system specs. That would help.

I would go for the MSI KT7 Turbo and grab an unlocked T-bird from you know who. If you really want performance you could try getting some RAM that will handle 166FSB and then drop your multiplier.

you should post your system in here and link to it in your sig
