...yup thats right....my beloved 240SX is gone. I'm not sure what happened exactly since I wasn't in the car when the accident occured, but apparently the car lost control on the Gardiner Expway and slid across three lanes. Everyone is fine though.

No injuries, except a shattered dream and a broken heart.

=(
 
You werent' in the car? So, you loaned your car out to someone...and they aren't on the insurance, obviously, since you are probably the only driver listed on the policy...and lemme guess; that person has no car (hence them borrowing yours) so they have no insurance to cover, right?

actually my dad was driving, its in his name, and he is the primary driver on it.

I never ever let anyone drive my car on the main roads, and I never drive anyone else's car on the main roads.

yeah he's fine...I dind't know about it till he was picking me up from the station in teh other car and i mentioned how different the maxima wascomapred to the 240 (i hadn't been in the maxima for over a month)...and he said well that' all you'll be driving now. =(

andi have a midterm tomorrow..shit..i can't study now.

I realize you were very attached to your ride. I understand completely. But, look at it this way:

1. You won't be walking, b/c he's giving you his car
2. It's a nice car
3. See #1
4. See #1 again


Now, get some rest; you have a test tomorrow! 🙂

1. I walk everyday and usually use public transit...regardless of what car we have...and its not fun walking in the cold..especially today...-29C!! ..thats not the point..none of the cars are *mine* in the sense I can drive it whenever I want...its my parents..I ususally use it on teh weekends when its free....thats not the point though...i'm not complaining..i didn't pay for hte car..so its obviously not mine..but still..i was attached to it..since well...i loved driving it...every chance I got.

I'm just venting...never really lost anything that I was attached too...and the regulars on AT know how much I loved that car...I'm not complaining..just upset. this is the first time I'm actually venting on AT..hehe...close to 3k posts in over 4 years!

First quiz I got 11.5/25 - I left #4 (9 marks) comletely blank, because I forgot to study that section.

Today's quiz...I studied everything, but that might not help me. I had to do a lot of guessing 🙁


btw, how come you're not on ICQ anymore? I just got my internet back last week (no net at home Dec18-Feb3!) and I haven't seen you online since.

hey we got teh same mark on the first MSE quiz! NOt that its a good thing though. I studied for second quiz and that phase diagram screwed me over.

Well I saw the 240SX today.....DAMMMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNN....is all I have to say.

That car is freaking SAFE! The entire cabin was untouched (apart from the airbags exploding), the dash was perfect, everything looked intact. My dad had no injuries wat so ever.

The outside however...CRAP! Hood was shaped like an "S", bumper on the ground, front suspension broken (seriously..the control arm had a massive crack in it and was almost in two), the radiator was mangled up, the air-intake box was in peices, strut towers were in, I'm pretty sure there was engine damage as well.

I haven't taken any pictures yet. I will if I get a chance. Whats wierd is that someone already bought our mangled car from the salvage. And luckily, the insurance is giving us more than we paid for it (including tax!!)..car price was $12k (before tax) and we are getting $15k. Still, I'd rather have the car back.

But once again, I'm surprised at how safe the car is. It really did protect the occupants & cabin.

 
Weren't they supposed to tear down the Gardiner like a decade ago??? At least that's what they were promising back then...looks like they never got around to it...
 
Look at it this way.. you can get a '96 240SX, drop in a SR20DET, S15 front end conversion.. for that $15k.. 😀
 
Dude I know exactly how you feel. Same thing happened with my beloved SVX except I am now carless and don't have a backup ride. 🙁 Atleast you got a maxima

Hehe...BIG DEBATE going on over that. Apparently they won't tear it down, but renovate the area underneath it.

No, I advised my dad to pocket the money and get any car for around $5k. No point of getting a nice car now. I'll just buy my own when I am financially able to do so.

As for having the Maxima, yeah thats true. Not that I drove the 240SX that much anyway or drove in general actually.

It was a sentimental thing.

btw, you had an SVX? Sweet...those are really nice cars.
