Gona Go 100% AMD and need a bit of component advice!

Well, I have 4 computers in my house. Two are currently AMD based and the other two are Intel. I can no longer ignore the price/performance disparity, and it's time to upgrade! I understand all the reliability, heat dissipation, and system stability issues that have been discussed (cough) numerous times. I don't wish to revisit them.

Should I look for for the new KT266A or get an Nforce board. Seems I shouldn't get the older KT266. BTW I tend to be a Asus fan, are there any reviews/previews on Asus's new KT266a board?

Cases! one of my current cases is a intergraded slim case dell system! (don't ask it was free) what's a good, easy to work on, AMD approved mid-tower?

Vid Cards... I'm gona put my current GF2 mx200 in one system, I know it's slow but that system is gona be a server. The current 8500 Vs GF3 Ti debate will rage for several weeks I think :disgust: , but feel the Ti 200 will deliver good performance for my needs with AMD's 1800 model. any reported issues between AMD, VIA, and The GF3 Ti's?

Mem! more is better right? 🙂 I don't suppose I can use my current Sdr ram in any newer Ddr mobo? (sigh) anyone need 1 gig Sdr ram? Dang if I upgraded all four systems I'd have 2 gig's of useless mem! :Q maybe I'll build a system or two with that ram, and donate it to a childrens shelter.

For cases: many people here are partial to Antec. I also think the Fong Kai 320 is a good choice. Take a look around www.directron.com
For Motherboards: I would shy away from the NForce. It's due out 'soon' but that could mean in two or three months. I don't believe the Asus kt266a board is out yet. I think MSI and epox are. I have an 8k7a (not kt266a), and it is easily the best motherboard I have owned.
For Video Cards: if you want top of the line, go GF3. It has less problems then the Radeon 8500. If you want good performance and price go with a Radeon LE from Newegg.com and get the RadeonTweaker (PM me if you can't find it), and enable hyperz. it makes it into a Radeon 32 meg DDR card for 50 bucks. It runs all games great, and has better 2d then Geforces (in my opinion).
For RAM: Crucial is selling DDR dirt cheap. Don't worry about it, 256 or 512 will definately be fine, although unless you are doing serious graphics stuff or something akin to that 256 should be fine.

Also I would be interested in purchasing some of your SDR ram. 🙂

Good Luck, PMme if you have questions.

Hmmm case nirvana! Never seen Directron.com before, thanks for the link!

Sorry, the selling of the ram was sarcastic I'll hold on to it and build obslete systems for charatable purposes. I probibly have enough parts laying around to build 10-15 systems. 😱 Duno if any of you tend to collect stuff but I'm a bit of a pack rat. Still have some socketed ram from an old 286 system... heh I still have the mobo/cpu for it too!

Any reported issues with AMD/VIA/Nvidia latest products working together?

Thanks!
