Golly gee willikers, a biblical invasion of crickets strikes Texas

About 6-7 years ago we had a cricket invasion in Texas, businesses would spray insecticides & there would be piles of rotting crickets shortly afterwards, looks like we're in for another invasion.

The worst part was the smell of the banks of rotting dead crickets, you'd pull up to a fast food window, roll it down & want to puke from the smell.

Haha, I work at Kyle Field at Texas A&M. They replaced the stadium lights and were burning them in earlier this week. There were millions of crickets and grasshoppers all over Kyle Field. Once I stepped outside, there was a plague of crickets, birds, and bird poop.

I like the new thread title. As for crickets, I've really missed hearing them this summer, hardly any around so far, it just doesn't sound like a summer night without them. I wouldn't want to have to listen to that many of them though. :Q

I remember when we had one of those when I was still in high school. Marching with the band at football games sucked.
To this day I hate crickets.
I think the only thing that was worse was at the same time I worked at a Mc D's. The current happy meal toy was the cricket from Mulan.

crickets? I've only seen 2 or 3 ever..

grasshoppers though, a few years back we had 80000000000 of them. go down the highway and your car turned brownish-green. and stunk
I hate grasshopper smell!

The power plant I work at (30 miles north and west of Fort Worth) is literally crawling in damned crickets. They reek and they cause a serious cleanliness issue. I hate crickets. :|
