grrr. i borrowed 3 books, i can't find one of them (it's in my house somewhere)... so i never got around to returning them. i wonder if i return them they'll waive the fee or something. they said something about an outside collection agency. hmm.

You don't want to deal with a collection agency... they can put a mark on your credit history. You really want a mark on it for $75 in late fines?

oh really? damn. they're smarter than i thought i guess

anybody know if they waive the fines if i return them? these fines are basically payments for the books themselves, becuase they think it's a lost cause. which it woudln' be if i could just find that one book....

Tell them you will purchase the books if they forego the fee. It works every time, thats what I used to do. 40 bucks is a lot better than 75.

do you mean purchase them from a bookstore and give them to the library? or buy them from the library?

I think he means you just pay for the price of the books.

Because if you could buy the books at a bookstore and give them to the library, why not just look for the lost 1 and return all 3...or buy a copy of the lost 1 and return it with the other 2.

The library has probably replaced them by now and just want as much $$ as they can get from you.

It'll prol be cheaper for you to buy the books off Amazon and give them those than to pay the 'cost of replacement'.

maybe edit it to:

"GODDAMN I AM BIG AND STRONG WITH LARGE TESTICLES, GRRRRRRRR....i owe the library about 75 bucks"

maybe that'll satisfy mr. manley
