Golfing and Drinking

At my course, the beer-cart girl talent is minimal 🙁, though one does far better on tips than the others. I'm not known to drink much during a round, mainly because I'll have to hit up every tree after I do so for relief. 😉

I'm game for a couple in the clubhouse, but several of the people I golf with, and see out there are drinking a beer a hole, and then a couple in the clubhouse afterwards. Then the stupid ba$stards drive the 20 kilometers back to town. I make sure I'm on the road well before those jokers. I'm pretty sure the local police don't bother with a checkstop at the end of the golf course road because several prominent business members in town would suddenly be without driving privileges.

I've contacted the police (RCMP) a couple of times, advising them to be out there on Monday or Thursday nights around 9-10 p.m., and they'll be able to capture a couple of DUI's for 100% certainty. So far I've never seen them there 🙁

What is it like where you play?

Edit: Pic of Beer Cart Girl

i dont drink much beer when I play because it starts to negatively affect my game sometimes. i'd rather just play completely sober. usually at the turn i'll grab a beer though but thats it.

Golfing is enjoyable, but it's a lot more fun when you have a few drinks with your buddies.

If I'm playing seriously, there is no booze involved.

I *might* have one after the front 9 or after I'm done for the day on my normal golf outings. Otherwise the only time I drink more than that is if I'm in a 4 man best shot and just out there to have fun more than anything else.

I usually walk every course I play. Walking + drinking just doesn't work well.

Yeah, I always walk too, unless I'm playing 36+ in a day, and I'll admit to the occasional shot of liquor during a best ball too. During serious rounds though, which I consider most of them to be, I prefer sobreity.

I don't have a problem with this ... unless you drink and then drive home.

Alright, fine, but I warn you, it is tiny. The only one that was on the old website. I'm designing a new one right now.

Beer Cart Girl

thank you for the beer cart girl pic  makes for a much more enjoyable read
No problems 🙂 Just wish it were larger to show the body that was also on display.

😀 I'll see what I can do the next time I'm out there ...

if you call that minimal talent, i demand to see your version of minimal++ 🙂

for me it depends which day it is. on league nights i always grab two to put in my beer sleeve (fits nicely in my side pouch) before i tee off. then i sip on those through the first 6 holes or so and hit up the beer cart for another. if we have time to get 18 in, i'll have finished 5 before the round is up. i have friends who drink much more out there and it doesn't seem to effect them. the annoying part for me is having to piss every few holes. i don't like that. breaking the seal sucks.

we only drink when it's not important - ie. non-competitive. if it's a 4-man scramble, look out. that's when things get REAL messy. personally i have to keep it on the level at all times. if i come home drunk, the wife will rip my balls off if i was driving.

it's beautiful out today. i want to play NOW. last night i shot a 5-over par 41 on the back but i birdied 13 for a $20 skin. go me!

Good for the wife enforcing the drunk driving policy, mine wouldn't rip mine off, she would just leave and never come back.

Nice work on the skin. I was sitting here the other day totalling up my $$ won this year, and I did significantly better than last year, up around the $600 range for about a $300 output. I'm liking that math! 😛

Edit: there is nothing I would rather do than get out golfing right now in the sunshine and 15 degree weather. Not even sex 😱

Double edit: Oh and Beer Cart Girl ++ ... even better --> Oh my.

man, you win a lot of skins. i'm jealous over here! 🙂

i frickin' double-bogeyed #12 too. dammit. and my par putt on 16 hung on the lip forever, like the Tiger hang, but never fell in. no swoosh on one side to weigh it down. 😛

well, tied my low 9 on that side for the year so i'm happy! we got some rain on Saturday, and then the remnants of Katrina on Tues/Wed. the course hasn't looked his green since spring. *spooooge*

DAYUM nice link!!! *deletes cookies and internet files* (work computer!!) 😀

Yeah, the skins were profitable, as was were the tournaments I've played in. Got one more next weekend where I hope to pull out a pretty good score. It is for all the flight winners from the area for the year, and it is at my home course, which too is in spoogily-terrific shape right now.

I've been getting a couple of doubles here and there recently too, and it is pissing me off. I don't like seeing anything higher than a 5 on my card.
