With my tax return money, I plan to use some of it to buy myself a new putter. The one I'm looking at right now is the Nike Blue Chip OZ Mallet putter. ($124) I tried one of these out at Dick's Sporting goods and it felt really good.

You guys have any other recommendations for me to check out? I'd like to stay under $150.

Thanks. :)

Its all about feel. Whatever makes you feel good.

Although I have heard the Callaway putters with the two ball markers work well.

I ahve an old Ping putter that has been great. Out of all the putters I have used, it feels and reacts the best. I don't know how old it is, but the engraving for the name and style is wearing down :Q

I heard some good things about Odyssey White Hot putters, but I use Ping G2i myself.

It's all about the feel and what you like.

I know it is about feel, and what feels best. I just like to know what everyone else is using so I can have some specific ones in mind to go check out. :)

Ive got an old Ping Isopur putter that I had cut to my liking. Its really short but I like it.

Its also the only remaining piece of equipment from my original golf purchases 6 years ago.

Don't overspend. The difference between a $50 putter and a $300 putter is mostly marketing. The second you pick up a putter you'll know if it's something that you can use. The right putter will fit your hand just right, will set up behind the ball just right, will feel just right during the stroke and most importantly, will look good to your eye. If it looks like you can make putts with it you WILL make putts with it.

I'm using an old Ping Pal2. Found the head in a garbage can on a tee where it got left after the owner probably three-jacked and snapped the shaft over his knee. Reshafted it and added a new grip, total cost under $10. Putts every bit as well as any Bettinardi or Scotty <barf> Cameron. If you like the look of the Oz you obviously like larger, rounder, mallet-ish heads. Also consider the Odyssey Two-Ball, the Ping G2 Piper or the Never Compromise TDP 5.2

A putter is a fcuking putter, you don't need any special metals on a fcuking putter. I can put with a hockey stick (no pun intended), so as long as you know what to do when putting. Save your money and spend it on driver, woods, and a 9 iron.

Ditto on the White Hot. A friend has one and I do like it. I personally use a Ping MyDay that I have had for a long time now. Really good putter!

Golf is 70% mental. Get a putter that makes you feel confident. Make sure the weight feels right to you.... Furthermore, it should look cool. ;)

I can sink almost anything from 5 feet in with almost any putter so I wanted a putter that would get me closer or in from farther out. Center-shafted mallets seem to be the choice (for me) for longer putts. If you have a good stroke but want to sink the longer stuff then check out the Odyssey White Hot #5 (center shaft) and my current putter; the Never Compromise Z/I Omega.

white hot nummer 5
a real nice N/C Omega

All of the center-shafteds will be balanced decently but the ball will leave the club face differently depending on face compostition. It's all about personal preference.

I have myself convinced that Nike equipment will make me better. :p

I'm going to check out that White Hot putter, but as i said I'm leaning towards the Nike. That swoosh is just damn sexy. :)
