IMO, you can be a very good golfer and not be athletic. What is needed in golf is a 'repeating swing'. Of course, if you are a good/great athlete, this will help you to be a very good/great golfer. But it is not necessary.
High-level tennis requires excellent strokes, movement/mobility, quickness, speed, and agility. No matter how great your strokes are, if you can't consistently move/get to the ball, then you cannot produce those strokes if you are not in position, ie, late to the ball.
