For those who golf what fairway woods. Looking at getting one or a few.

What kind do you have? Do you like them.

What wood do you have, 3 wood, 5 wood, 7 wood?

Thanks

I have a three and a five wood. The three is handy for long par 5's and also handy to use off the tee if you're having a bad day with the driver (harder to slice/hook than a driver). My five is a Callaway warbird knockoff that I absolutely love. Ball goes about 200 yards and it's hard to hit a slice since the club is pretty lofted. Much easier than hitting a 3 or 4 iron cleanly IMO.

I have the Taylor Made Bubble Shafts-1,3 & 5. Pretty nice. I dont like the driver but I love the 3 & 5.

I have hit a few ... if you are on a budget, try out the Callaway Steelheads. They aren't titanium (and thus, cost a LOT less) but they still go pretty far.

Your best chance is to go to a golf range that has a pro shop and ask to hit a few. I have the old generation Callaway Steelhead and use it for 235-250 and the ball lands nice and soft (nice for reaching the long par 5's in two:) )

Until you get pretty good, leave the Driver at home and drive with your 3 wood and use the 5 wood on the fairway.

geee, that sounds like good advice... on the 8th hole 2 weeks ago, I hit my 7th horrible drive with my driver (one was a par 3, didn't use the driver)... I snapped the driver in half. The looks on the other faces in my foursome was priceless! From now on, I'm going to always carry a cheap club to snap in half... just for comedic effect.

Hitting a 1 iron well is harder than hitting a Randy Johnson fastball

i use my 3 wood mainly for second shots on par 5's and sometimes long par 4's

one of my friends only hits 1 irons off the tee, he has yet to buy himself a real driver. but he's crazy powerful, he can really smack an iron.

i used to have a driving iron (0 iron), that was silly
