GOLF: David Duval resurgence?

Since the snow is flying in many areas, and some of us are missing the game, watching tournaments is as close as we'll get for a while, so I thought I'd fire up a thread.

While David Duval might be seen to be hiding behind his shades most of the time, that one Tiger Woods commercial where he made fun of himself made me a huge fan.

To see him shoot a 64 Thursday, and a 68 yesterday, now 1 back of Jim Furyk along with Tiger Woods, I'm hoping Duval can continue the steady play, and make it back to golf's elite.

Tourney update

wow, i'm so into hockey and football right now, i have no idea what's going on in the golf world!

indeed, it would be nice to see him pull one out, or get a top 3 or something. seems like one of the more carefree types on tour. i like that.

Blasphemy 😛 I can't get worked up about my winter sport, basketball, until March more or less, so I'll continue to watch the silly season events.

I like hearing interviews with Duval, when he talks about his family and snowboarding as much as he does golf 🙂 He's a multimillionaire, and can afford to do exactly what he pleases. I don't think he'll ever make it entirely the way back, because other things are just more important. Balance. It must be hard to maintain balance when all you do is golf. I'd be willing to give it a try though 😛

share!

Patt - as much of a golf nut as I am, when hockey comes around - I am obsessed with stats and highlights. also i'm still somewhat of an NFL newb, but i've been a fan for about 10 years and i don't think i will ever turn back. NFL is fscking ridiculously sweet.

I grew up in the good old days of Edmonton Oilers hockey, but even then wasn't terribly into it. Football too. I don't think I've watched more than two full games in my life. I really enjoy playing both actually, but am perturbed when I have to watch 45 minutes of hockey highlights, 10 minutes of T.O. to get to 5 minutes of basketball scores and few highlights. Thank god for NBA TV. Last season, although I thought it sucked hockey was gone, on the basketball side of things, way more games were shown

I really like him. He was my fave back in the 90's. I hope he can get back into it.

It's amazing how the #1 ranked golfer in the world could go into such a HUGE slump. It would be a cool story if he could climb up the world ranking.

And, Patt, YGPM.

heh, you'd probably kick my ass if you knew that i've never been to a Pistons game. I've been to the Palace a couple times, but it was to watch hockey and other events. 🙂

going to an NBA game is on our LONG list of things to do.

Yeah I might have to kick your ass. I have been to a couple of Seattle Supersonics games, a game between the Lost Angeles Lakers & New Jersey Nets (preseason game in Edmonton), and a Toronto Raptors game at the ACC. Would like to see a Detroit game at the Palace though ...

I'd rather spend the money on golf though. For example ... my trip to Vegas & TPC at the Canyons 😉 coming up in less than a couple weeks.

oh, don't worry - i haven't forgotten that you get to go to Vegas and GOLF... perhaps it has something to do with the outright JEALOUSY on my part... 😛

they had an NBA preseason game in Edmonton? wow, nice!
