I bought a set of golf clubs on Ebay last week, and I was notified this morning that they shipped. It's a 16-piece set (1-3-5W, 3-PW, Putter, Bag). UPS lists it as 8.00 lb. Is this possible for an entire set of golf clubs? Are they often off on their weight listings, or should I be worried that I'm not getting what I paid for?

I wouldn't worry until it shows up.

How much did you pay for them? What'd ya get? :)

Bought a set of Ram Concept clubs (1-3-5W, 3-PW) + Zebra Putter + Bag for around $200.00 (new in box)...I feel like I might have overpaid a little, but I really like these clubs, and a set of the same clubs in used condition went on the same day for $140.00...

I agree with pulse8. I ordered a Home Theater system once and it claimed that the box weighed over 100 pounds....it felt like 50 to me.

Nope, the weight is definitely wrong. A typical club weighs around 320-340 grams plus or minus 25. So figure 3/4 of a pound for each club. A normal set is 14 sticks, so it's close to 10.5 pounds for the clubs alone. Figure 5 pounds at least for the bag and the set is at least double what they state. From my experience shipping a lot of clubs, a set of 8 irons with the weight of the packing material and the box itself comes out to pretty close to 8 pounds. It's likely that's where they came up with the number.

BTW, 1-3-5, 3-PW, putter and bag is 13 pieces, not 16.

The seller probably have an account to print UPS shipping labels and misentered the weight. He's going to get a charge on his account later.
