Interesting - thanks

Although I find a nice 4 wood works best against baby seals.

I use a set of Ping Eye 2's that are almost as old as I am. Not a long hitting club by any means, but they are very forgiving and very easy to control.

I got a good price on the set (~ $240) and don't really see myself needing anything else for a long time.

Not really sure what else to say. Clubs are like computers...there's something always newer and fancier out there, but there isn't any need to upgrade if you can still do everything you need to do with your current one(s).

I am using Ping G2 and I love it. Some may argue that it's a hybrid but I don't mind. The only thing is that since the head is heavy, when you hit a clean one, you don't get the same nice feeling as conventional ones.

My friend has the G2 driver and it is a monster. Very nice.

Ping G2 clubs was rated #1 by Golf Digest I believe.

Same thing I am playing... Ping Eye2 (blue) and an old Ping MyDay putter. I couldn't be happier with them. Very forgiving irons. I've had my set for a while now, and for as little as I play, I still get good consistent shots out of them. I have tried other clubs, mainly blades, and I don't hit them nearly as well, but it could just be that I am used to the Eye2's.

My dad actually got a new set of clubs about 2 years ago (Nickalus I think) and ended up going back to the Eye2's after a few rounds... The whole family plays them!

Ping eye 2 blues here too. I love them and they are forgiving but that can also be a weakness. For any given club you can get about a ~10 yard difference if you "pure it". Just my opinon but my friend has copper heads and says that the effect is worse. But if you play once a week or less I don't know of a better club.

If so what are you opinions on them.

1) What model?
2) How good are you? (What's your handicap.)

Blah. I prefer Mizuno! Mx-30/33 combo set.
If you are an intermediate golfer check out the MX-23's. Not as much of a blade as the 30 or 33's, yet still a very nice set of irons. Mizuno makes some of the best irons out there!

I don't know anyone that plays Pings but they're supposed to be good clubs. I recommend that you go out and hit a bunch of different clubs. Find the ones that feel the best to you and buy them. Approach this the same way you would buy a car.

I played the G2s for a couple rounds this summer. I really liked them. My first set of clubs were the Ping Eye 2s a long time ago. I've played a bunch of different sets of irons (I'm a pro shop manager in the summer) and I was actually impressed by the new Pings. I ended up with the Cleveland TA2s though.

I have a set of Ping Eye 2 Beryllium Coppers that I picked up cheap a couple of years ago for my son to use when he grows up. Turns out he hits lefty. Oh well, they'll look nice in a display case.

Ping's have decent resale value, better than most.

The only Pings I have are a Ping Eye2 orange dot beryllium copper sand wedge which I love and an old Ping Anser putter. I put left-handed and it's very hard to find a nice feeling left-handed putter but the old Ping does me pretty good.

I play with the zings... and im telling ya, they have been the best thing to hit my bag in a long time. I havent really even broken out my woods because i can hit the sh1t out of the 3 iron...

Find someone that makes clones around you... and try out his 7 irons or whatever... they usually have 1 of each kind they loan out so you can get a feel. That will help ya alot.

I play ping eye 2 black's. Was going to trade them in but the golf rep said I should hold on to them. The value is doing nothing but going up. Very forgiving club. Looking at some mizuno blades because I feel my shots have progressed passed the eye 2's....most days.

Im also looking to get a complete set of irons.... I am currently using a Titleist DCI 962 half set (missing a few clubs) and was looking to get something a bit newer. Anybody use/read much about Nike Hybrid CPR series? They are pretty moderately priced but not much about how good/bad they are.

I would love to get the ping i series but they go for too much $.

Have you considered Nike NDS?
They got great reviews and cheaper. Regular price is $499, but you can always find it cheaper. The shape of the iron reminds me of Callaway x16.

Yeah I looked at them... from what you posted theyre not that might higher. Im looking for a set of irons in this range so any other "comparable" sets would be helpful.

Im not even limited to nike but they seem to offer the best "value" from what Ive been reading.

Im probably going to buy off fleabay but Ill see if any of the local shops have any deals as well because I want to go swing 4 or 5 sets before I decide, just looking for some names to tell the salesperson.
