Goldschlager - what effect does the gold have on you?

Its only 95 proof i think - so is black haus, and black haus never fcked me up like that.

It must be the gold - I tried looking it up on google, but just found estores selling goldschlager.
 
I thought it was 80 proof, and I'm pretty sure the gold is just decorative.

Iono, but it gets to me faster too.

I remember taking shots of stoli vodka and I'd be up to 3-4 before I start getting messed up.

A couple days later at a friend's bday party, I took one of the gold stuff, and my stomach didn't feel good. Maybe something about the cinnamon and stuff.
 
Heh...someone asked this way back when I was taking radiology courses in college. Gold is inert, so your body will just pass it. The shaving are so thin that the gold has no effect. Our prof said gold is so inert that you could swallow a 1/2 lb ball of it and it would pass right through unscathed. He suggested a ball so it doesn't get stuck and you die of an intestinal blockage. Anyone want to try? 😀
 
Now that I think about it, I remember someone mentioning the gold flakes creating cuts and the alcohol going into the bloodstream more directly. That would explain A LOT. That stuff works very quickly.

The gold in the drink is paper thin...thinner than that even. Your stomach and intestinal lining is pretty damned tough. Those flakes aren't going to cut anything.

That's nothing one time when I was out with some friends my buddy and I got into a bit of a drinkin challenge and kept buying each other stronger and stronger drinks while playing pool. After we were already getting trashed, I decided to buy him a drink that would end the contest so I had the bartender make a triple shot of tequila, goldschlager, and 151! I handed it to my friend and he refused to try it. Finally I told him what was in it and he said he would split it with me, so we did.

I puked about an hour later IN Denny's. Talk about embarassing. There was a group of people sitting next to us and one of the girls said "Damn, I ain't been drunk like that in years!!" 🙂 Neither had I, although I'm still not sure if I puked because of the alcohol or the food at Denny's.

I felt like complete crap the whole next day. Need less to say I lost the contest.

 
Back in the teenage days a friend and I drank a ton of that stuff. He ended up sleeping on the downstairs couch in my parents basement. We went upstairs in the morning and my parents had cinnamon flavored donuts for us to eat. We maybe choked down one each before we threw up. My parents were laughing at us because they knew we had been drinking something cinnamon flavored because of the smell coming off of my friend.... Thought they'd teach us a lesson... Bastards.

I have drank my fair share of that stuff, no gold problems here.
 
As others mentioned the gold doesn't do a thing to you. It is just a marketing gimick. Gold is inert and it is tissue thin. In fact if you go to up-scale kitchen shops you can buy gold leaf paper to put on desserts - well anything but usually used for desserts or hor?dourves.
