Goldschlager? Is that real gold flakes or what is it?

Apparently the entire point behind it is that you're supposed to cut your throat slightly with the gold flakes which in turn leads to you feeling the effect of the alcohol much more quickly. I don't know how accurate that is, though.

The gold leaf is very, very thin. It doesn't really have the structural strength to cut one's innards up as it passes through you. I don't know about cutting the throat.

Yeah - gold is a comparitively soft metal. I'm guessing it's more marketing than anything else. AFAIK, gold is nontoxic, so it should pass through without any harmful effects.

They are very real. Gold leak is thin and flexible enough that it won't do anything except pass through your system. Gold leaf is also used in a couple deserts.

Also, the electroplate gold is very malleable, so it won't cut you open inside... don't worry. :)

Why would you want to drink that stuff anyways? It's pretty much a hangover in a bottle with all that sugar in it.

Buy Goldrush. It's the "generic equivalent" of Goldschlager and you can't tell the difference....unless you're really hardcore. Has the gold flakes in it, too.

gold and silver can both be made into very thin sheets and then are used to decorate things like wedding cakes.
