I just recieved a P3 in the mail and it has a gold marking in the bottom left corner of the chip. I heard somewhere that this means that the multiplier is unlocked.
 
The only way that I know to check if a part is an engineering sample (which, AFAIK, are the only multiplier unlocked Pentium III's) is to check the SSPec code.

What's the code?
