Golden Orb question

Just got my golden orb fan/heatskink in the mail today. I noticed it has a small white square of some kind of silicon thermal stuff on the bottom of the heatsink. My question is this:

Should I try to take off the little white square of thermal gunk and add thermal grease of my own, or is what is already on the heatsink sufficient? And if I should take off the thermal stuff already there, what should I use to get it off? It is pretty sticky.

Thanks,
Trav

You can leave it on it`s a square thermal paste ,some people take it off(& use different thermal paste) but GLOBALWIN says this,Should we use heat paste?

Not necessarily. Theoretically heat paste is a help to get better heat contact. However, if you do wrong when assembly, then the use of heat paste would cause you more inconveniences as well as reducing its function. So, what is the right assembly way: the knack is to make sure the heat paste is to be very thin, flat spread averagely and very firmly(-technique required) attach to the bottom surface of your heatsink. There is a potential problem: in the beginning of the use, the effect is indeed better then without, but after one year when the paste is getting hard, it doesn't have the function. On the contrary, it blocks the contact between CPU and heatsink bottom. Result? Incredibly terrible!!

Mem you are misinformed. The thing on the bottom is a square of thermal paste. On my first gorb I though it was a pad so i tried to peel it and it was paste! The paste is pretty good too so dont take it off.
