The reports I've heard/seen are that the G-Orb is designed for the Coppermine Intel devices and many users have damaged AMD cores attempting to use the G-Orb due to excessive pressure being placed on the slightly taller AMD core.
There are other Orbs designed for AMD CPU's - Blue? Silver? Not sure which, but definitely use caution with AMD chips and the G-Orb.
The Chrome Orb is the one that is designed for the Socket A CPUs. However, its performance is not the best. However, at the same time, for the Duron, it should be OK, unless you do some serious overclocking (like voltage modifications).
I think they actually did come out with a Socket A Golden Orb in the end, but there were still lots of problems. The one specifically for Socket A are the Chrome Orb and Super Orb. The Blue Orb is for video card and motherboard chipsets.
I used the gorb on my duron for almost a month before I got my fop38. Worked pretty damn good actually and I didn't destroy my cpu either. This was on a kt7 which the gorb supposidly doesn't fit. Hmm, who knows.
