Ok, so I picked up golden axe, beast rider today. In a phrase, I wish it were possible to return opened games. The gameplay generally stinks. I am all for a good hack and slash, but IMO the fighting system in this game stinks. To make matters worse, the beast controls are sluggish at best. Not to mention that the graphics, though in 1080p, are surprisingly lackluster.

I remember a while ago when the XBOX 360 folks were touting this title. But then it fell off the radar. Now I know why.

Two thumbs down for this hunk of trash.

 Not in this forum they weren't. The game hasn't even been mentioned at all other than on my console release list and a mention in a post someone did on Oct 1st for upcoming games.

I know I haven't talked about it simply because I expected it to be crap and didn't think it was worth talking about. I'm honestly shocked that someone actually spent money on that this week instead of Dead Space or Saints Row 2 or even SOCOM.

I watched a gameplay trailer and the graphics look five years old.

They missed the entire point of Golden Axe. The reason so many people loved the original games is due to co-op. This game has no co-op. So it was doomed to fail even if the game was decent.

I remember everyone laughing at this game from the get go. It was pretty much obviously going to suck. Who said otherwise?

About a month ago I caught wind of this game was being made. Being a big fan of the original Golden Axe(s) I dug around for a trailer for it. After the trailer I think I found a game that is farther from the intent of its predecessors than Fallout 3.

Why would you buy this game? Every review says it sucks. Did you expect it to not?

I know reviews aren't the gospel truth. They often give good scores to games that don't deserve it. But they rarely criticize a game unless it really does suck.

To be honest, I picked up the game simply because I loved the orignals so much. if they stayed true to those it would have been much better.

And don't worry, I'm not completely nuts. I picked up Dead Space too and am very happy with that.

What? Golden Axe with no co-op? Who the hell gave this the green light?

Oh okay. I was about to be very confused and hurt inside.

But yeah, way to miss the point of the Golden Axe series. No co-op = no go.

Yeah, I had a feeling this game was gonna be bad. I was a least hoping it would retain some of the elements of the original.. but no co-op? That's a ridiculously bad move on their part.

Lame.

At least that one had 2 player versus mode.
