I saw the Pay-per-View last night. Goldberg was in a tag team. If he lost, he would be kicked out of the WCW for life.

In the press, it stated that since WCW was sold, that they could not afford Bill Goldberg anylong and he also wanted to move to the WWF to make even more money. This was the perfect way to move him over to the WWF.

As everyone could have guessed, Bill Goldberg lost last night and is officially out of the WCW. He is expected to 'pop' up sometime in the next week or so in the WWF.

This is about as predictable as a soap opera. Hey wait a minute, thats exactly what this is!

that's actually pretty interesting although I don't think he will do any good in the WWF

Where are you getting this from? From the way I see it, it's a start of a big push or Goldberg, as you could tell the few fans that still watch WCW really cared and were super surprised that he lost. When he comes back, which may be a little while, they'll really start to care about him..

ya, youcant just break a contract. you would have to pay him off or expect a big lawsuit for getting fired for no reason. plus bill has somewhat control of his matches, remember his short heel?

Who said anything about him joining the WWF? Just because he wants to doesn't mean Vince will let him. Of course, with the money and fans that Goldberg would bring with him to the WWF, it would be stupid not to. (This would be a dream PPV - Goldberg vs Stone Cold - back when the WCW was all that, there was all these fantasy matches depicting the two - I'd still like to see it)

True, Meltzer said that Goldberg has the ability to be way bigger than Austin ever would, because of the fact that he was Jewish.

And since a whole lot of media people are in fact Jewish, you could expect a lot of mainstream attention directed toward him, as he certainly wasn't what you picture as a normal jew.

Goldberg is a jew? :Q

does steve austin still wrestle in wwf? a match between the two of them would be interesting.

I always got a kick out of how both organizations never ever mentioned a word of the other one during a show or promotion, pretended how the other one didn't exist.

but oh well, I watched wrestling for like 2 months a couple years ago, then I got quickly bored with it

It'd be interesting to see who'd lose. Austin's lost cleanly about once on PPV in the past few years (and doesn't seem to be losing anytime soon), and Goldberg has his streak and all. It would be odd to see either one of them lose.

Not true, WCW did this to their advantage a while back. Since the WWF didn't have enough finances to produce a live show every week, they would record four shows at a time, and play them back in four different weeks of the month. And since Nitro and RAW were on at the same time, Nitro announces announced the results of what happened on RAW.

When was this? You've missed some amazing matches since then..

Although the WWF was pretty bad from 94-97 for the most part, but it was like a rebuilding period for them with WCW basically "stealing" all the established workers from the WWF.

The problem is that like any pro team that "buys" talent instead of harvesting it, is that by the time you get someone groomed and totally primo they are several years into their run usually and cost alot more. Macho Man and Hogan cost WCW huge amounts to lull them over, only to have them do less than stellar at that. WWF has built alot of talent, such as the Degeneration X, the Rock, Hardy Boyz, which all started off with lower salaries and were had the revenue pull before the $$$ to match it.

Bah, I don't want Goldberg in WWF. He is WCW material and he doesn't fit into WWF. For example, Raven doesn't belong in WWF.

Wangel, how bad did Sid's leg look? I heard it looked real bad.
I hope he can make a quick and complete recovery. I know he's getting up there in years and has had some other injuries in the past. A compound fracture has the potential to end a career.

I don't either.

But if you think all wrestling is a bunch of guys punching each other, then you're highly misinformed.

Wrestling is scripted, but so are TV shows, movies, books, and zillions of other forms of entertainment.
And just because it's scripted, it didn't prevent 16 wrestlers from being killed in a span of about 6 years (football had 2 deaths that same period), an endless amount of guys who have had permanent injuries, (such as paralyzation and brain damage), and all the injuries faced day in day out.

-Unless you can claim you've seen some good matches of the past (good database with star ratings at www.rantsylvania.com), it'd be plain stupid and ignorant to say it sucks from watching maybe 10 minutes of it on TV.
As long and as closely as I've followed wrestling, I like a lot of it, but a WHOLE LOT of it is really stupid and dumb. So I, and other groups of followers, will clearly admit a lot of it is stupidity (I rarely watch full 2 hour shows and never watch Sunday Night Heat, Metal, and the other weekend stuff).
But to say that epitomizes all of wrestling is just, well, plain stupid.

That's like saying everything AMD produces sucks because you tried the K6-2, or saying that all Japanese products suck because you tried something of there's that sucks.

Wrestling, like everything else, is more than first meets the eye. And like everything else, until you can get past those shallow thoughts, you'll be submerged within them. Like these forums, despite the bad, there is some good hidden under all that mess :)

did they just start doing this? I never saw them do that. its like when a wrestler from the WWF came to WCW, like Bret Hart, they never mentioned where he "came from", they might say "from another organization", same with Hogan.

and when whats his name, that giant dude in WWF, who was in WCW (or NWO actually), they didn't mention he came from wcw.

so the WCW announcers talked about the matches on RAW and who was winning, etc.? that amazes me even more.

No, they did it a long time ago in about '96 I believe.

back when Raw was taped a few years ago. wcw announcers during a live broadcast of Nitro, made public that mick foley would be winning the WWF championsip that night. they did it in an effort to blow the ending so none of wcw's watchers would switch over to USA to watc Raw, it backfired as Raw ad more viewers that night than any night before and WCW had one of its lowest ratings at the time.
