Gold VX Overheating?

My Gold VX is failing memtest Test 5 after about 6 consecutive runs. That is, it runs 6 consecutive tests of Test 5 error free, but the errors increase from there.

However, I did notice that my gold VX started burning up over time...and this is only at its stock speed (3.3V, 250Mhz, 2-2-2-8).

Ideas?
