Wow, this thing is still the market leader in its segment? That's impressive with all of the competition. I used to really like the Lexus but now I find it a bit boring. In the same category I would probably go with the Murano and MDX before this.

"Fuel requirement: 87 octane"

Whoa, premium gas isn't even required??? AND, it's a ULEV?? Is that a misprint?

The Murano doesn't compete with the RX330...it competes with the Highlander
The MDX is totally outclassed by the RX330 (and I don't see a Hybrid MDX either:)). Besides, the MDX is a whole generation behind the RX330 and its interior is nowhere as nice or luxurious

I've done some road time in the previous model and all I can say is "Bleh". Wasn't impressed with the interior, it felt completely disconnected from the road, and overall it just felt...bloated.

Ummm, that's the whole point of Lexus...comfort and road isolation. They are generally not "driver's vehicles." Toyota goes for maximum comfort with Lexus. If you want a driver's car, get a BMW

lexus is doing everything right...

the rx is purely amazing, the only bland design that I dont like is the LS, but that car is selling extremely well too... (the interior of the LS is purely amazing)

I have to agree. My in-laws have an RX300 and it's nice and all, but the interior is nothing to write home about and there is really not a lot of cargo room. And the turning radius is huge for some reason.

Overall, it's a nice vehicle, I just don't see why they are SO popular around here.

Presumably, the RX330 addressed some of these problems, although the rear styling is quite bad IMO.

Well, if you get those, you are compromising utility merely for looks because the X5 is tiny and IMO less useful than a station wagon.

vehicles like this exemplify the pussification of the american male. they take what is a bastion of testosterone, the SUV (think ford bronco) and turn it into mom's station wagon.

The X5 definitely has pitiful cargo room. IIRC, the X3 and even the 5-Series wagon have more.

Considering that Toyota itself aims the RX at women in general I don't know if that's a valid rant.
