I was speaking of vigilantism in a broad sense, where the system of justice in place is corrupt and unjust, where there is little or no legal recourse left after injustices have been committed.

I didn't use the word kill, and "take down" could mean any action. Don't know how your "Dexter" reference is more applicable here than anything else.

As with the label "freedom fighter", the application of "vigilante" could be a good or bad thing depending on context and perspective. Maybe you should quit watching Dexter?

I'd definitely start with the assholes that play their shitty ass music so loud everyone else can hear it 4 or 5 cars away. Then all the dickheads that change lanes without signaling. Normally yes, but on the internet it's standard procedure to say how much you hate children.

I'd get a junker car and mount a searchlight thing on the driver's side, except instead of a searchlight it'd have a sawed off shotgun. Then I'd drive around the city just like I normally would, matching speed with the traffic around me and staying out of the merging lane, and I'd bust a cap in anyone's ass that cut me off unreasonably. Also, people pacing those in other lanes for no good reason would get capped, as would ricers.

As for the rubberneckers at accidents (you know, the ones that stop or slow to 20 to look at a wreck on the other side of the median) I'd go up in a plane the next day and drop acetylene canisters on their heads, now that would give them some carnage to watch!

A vigilante is someone who illegally punishes a criminal, or participates in a group which metes out illegal punishment to criminals.

this is pretty much what anyone would answer if I asked them what a vigilante is.

Dexter, being a show about a vigilante serial killer, is pretty applicable, especially considering the ridiculous amount of manchildren who salivate all over the show's premise.

As for me, if I had the desire to become a vigilante (I don't, but this is a hypothetical question), and millions or billions of dollars, I would set up a private army in a place like Sudan or the DRC, hunt down people who think it's okay to murder, pillage and rape, and toss them on some remote island to fend for themselves.
