Tomorrow afternoon I get to experience the joys of yet another operation.

It is a short 45 minute procedure that is quite unexpected. It began today during my visit to the doctor to show him what I thought was a mole that was causing me pain. Turns out I have an infected skin tag that needs to be removed asap and have a biopsy performed.

Just what I need, more expenses and missed work.

I'm getting my wisdom teeth out on Sept. 19. I will soon feel your pain.

Just don't go to the doctor anymore that's what I do that way you don't know if something is wrong, and then you won't have to have operations or miss work time. Of course my neck is stiff all the time, I get heartburn (or heartattacks) in the morning a lot, my left shoulder is jacked up, and now my left wrist kills when I try to lift weights. But at least I won't be having surgery.

Google to the rescue:

Preauricular Sinus or Skin Tag

A preauricular sinus is a little tube located where the upper part of the ear's auricle (the outside part of the ear) joins the head. (A sinus is a saclike structure with a single drainage site ) A skin tag is a tiny mass of skin in the same location. The sinus can become pussy and has been associated with sinus tract infections. The preauricular skin tag can be surgically removed for cosmetic reasons and the sinus should be removed if an infection has developed.

EDIT: Read it. It's funny. ;)

Not where mine is located.

My wife has had a couple of those. I would advise getting Vitamin E capsules to rub the oil on the scars once the stitches are gone. Its almost impossible to find the scar that had the vitamin E on it, but the other one is obvious.

BTW - Good luck. Hope the biopsy doesn't show anything serious.

Back about 50 years, they'd probably just tell you to pull it off.

I got all 4 wisdom teeth pulled today. It's not that bad. I had my appendix out on Friday and it was worse. They kept me on a liquid diet. When I finally ate, it had been like 48 hours since my last meal. Supposedly, the wisdom teeth pain gets worse until the third day and then trails off. If it's only this bad, I'm not too worried. The Percocet and Advil keeps it under control pretty well.

Yeah, it wasn't as bad for me as I thought it would be.

I too had all four out (highly impacted) on an IV valium drip. The pain wasn't too bad, but the constant oozing of blood was a little irritating.

Also, I somehow managed to swallow a piece of blood soaked gauze which had been lodged inbetween two of the sockets at the back of my mouth. :(

I got Tylenol+Codeine for the pain afterwards, but I could have gone without.

Didn't have much luck crazy gluing the pieces of teeth together though. :D

Likewise.

If you're going to be in any pain during recovery, I hope you get some drugs.
