I am going to a meeting in Waco, TX next week. The meeting is in a building at the corner of Austin Avenue and North 4th Street. I am looking at hotels and hoping I can walk to the meetings each day.

Is is safe to walk in that area? What about at night (walking back to the hotel)?

Any good places to eat walking distance from that area?

Thanks.

Also should the ATF, FBI, or any other federal agency show up... Do as they say.

I still need to figure out how I can fit my barricades into my carry on luggage.

do you mean some people like it and others dont?

Not at all. I mean that some people believe that steers come from Texas and others don't.

Don't worry. Everyone in Texas has a CCW.. that's why the crime rate is so low!

Remember Ruby Ridge and Waco. Watch out for the jackbooted thugs of the BATF.

Turns out I will have to stay further away from the meeting place than I originally planned.

I hope my tires are still on the rental car at the end of the day. ;)

waco is harmless except in the projects/ghetto/crack addict areas...and even there as long as you mind your own business, tell them your just walking home and broke no one will mess with you.. but as long as your there on business and staying near downtown its just like any other mid sized city about like Denton, Texas... lots of people, but mostly just normal people trying to make it through the hell hole texas economy.

I don't know about Waco, but its about 105F where I am in Texas. I wouldn't walk anywhere between 9am - 9pm because of the heat.

Of course you are going to be broke walking in the those areas, you just spent all of your money buying percosets in the projects.

What I saw of it on my drive on the interstate on my way to Dallas, it didn't seem too bad. I didn't stop there so I didn't see much.
