Never been to Vegas before and I will be there a week for work by myself. Any recommendations for entertainment/food?

This is of course after I have done hookers and blow, gambling, more hookers and blow and more gambling

There's a lot of things to do, some can be pretty pricey.
Rent a dune buggy out in the desert
Helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon
Exotics racing
Burger at Mesa Grill in Caesars
Pre-theatre menu at CUT in Pallazzo
Jersey Boys
Spearmint Rhino
XS

The secret city under vegas. You should pack a worn hooded robe to fit in.

Encore Beach Club, Marquee Day Club, Marquee Night Club, XS Night Club, Drais After Hours..

I had thought about it but does it seem weird to go to a club by yourself?

Blood red or black?

I don't think I'll have much time for things that are that far away as I'll be busy till about 7pm each day. I am staying a Caesars so I'll definitely hit at burger place

Honestly, in Vegas not at all. When I do go to a club with people I never end up staying with them in Vegas. Its easy to talk to random girls in Vegas and end up back at your room with them.

Ah well - even with 'what happens in vegas stays in vegas' I don't think I'll be cheating on my wife during my visit :p (Other than with hookers of course)

Excellent! Well within my $30/meal company paid limit! Everything generally seems very close by as well. The zipline appears to be right near Caesars and the microbrewery is a block away - which is good since I dont get a car and only get re-imbursed for the trips to and from the airport :p

I think hookers, blow, and gambling pretty much covers the whole gamut.

I'd definitely go see Penn & Teller if you get a chance. The wacky glass bridge over the grand canyon looks cool.

I was looking at some of the shows and came across this website:
http://www.tix4tonight.com/

Anyone had any experience with them? Did the tickets come at a decent discount? I figure since I will be there during the week I might be able to snag some last minutes single seats to some of the shows I'd like to see

We went out their about 1.5 years ago and all the locals said to check the old casinos. Not the "main strip", but the original midsize casinos... I think around the Golden Nugget or something like that? We didn't check that spot out because, we were only there for 1 night. The main focus of our trip was the Grand Canyon, which IMO, is 10x more enjoyable that LV....

Well considering I have to be up every day I'm there at 7:30am and wont get done until 7pm my travel options are a bit limited
Bummer. Just stay in your hotel room and watch the travel channel to learn about places more interesting than Vegas.

Edit: Keep in mind that Vegas wasn't built where it was because there was anything of interest there. Legalized gambling + short distance to LA + cheap land (initially) = Vegas.

Considering the time limits, you could do a night helicopter tour of Vegas.

Spend an evening exploring the South Strip casinos. You could walk, or take the monorail to MGM. Then MGM, Excalibur - take the tram from Excalibur to Luxor to Mandalay Bay).

I don't know if there's a zipline near Caesar's, but the one he's talking about is on Fremont Street, the old strip, downtown. It's about 5 miles from the new strip.

I think it's worth going to Fremont street anyway, the lightshow is pretty cool and it's basically like a 4 block long open bar.

Without a car and with it sounding like you're trying not to spend a lot of dough, I can't give that much advice, when I go to Vegas I usually go hogwild with the debit/credit card and then pretend later that I didn't realize how much I was spending.

Cheap/Free stuff:
Fountains at the Bellagio
Lions at the MGM Grand
Pirate show at TI
Fremont Street "Experience"
Rides at the top of the Stratosphere

For food one of my favorite (fairly) cheap places to go is Yama sushi for all you can eat. Pretty good stuff and it's not like most AYCE sushi places where you're really restricted on what you can get, if you want to eat 40 shrimp tempuras you can do it. It's 2 or 3 miles from the strip though.

If you're gonne be there on a Sunday check out the Sterling brunch at Bally's. It's pretty expensive (85 bucks) but where else can you gorge yourself on lobster, caviar, and all you can drink French Champagne?

Nice timing...tagging this thread for later since I'm heading out there late May for a week on biz as well. Definitely gonna hit some of these places for good food and beer. Gonna have to stay off the hookers and blow cause don't want to end up like those ex-Secret Services guys.
