Going to Turning Stone Casino tonight

Well, I'm going to Turning Stone tonight, and it's the first time I will be going to a Casino. What's a good amount of money to bring? I will probably be sticking to hold 'em, so which kind of table should I stick with so I don't get fvcked?

Thanks.

Pick an amount of money you're comfortable with--obviously this depends on your financial situation. Don't spend any money you can't afford to part with (i.e. bill money, rent money, tuition money, etc).

You should have at least 10 times as much as the big blind to sit at that table. E.g. if you have $80, you can sit at a 4-8 table. Although I wouldn't recommend it. Personally, if it's your first time, I would say try to find a 1-2 limit table, and only play premium hands. Play tight, but aggressive, and realize that at limit tables you can't bluff (much).

i've never played hold em at a casino. i guess i'm too intimidated. and i dont' think i have ever seen one in canada. damn those guys aye.

Oceanside, where the hell is that? I live about 30 minutes from Turning Stone. Well, now I'm about 3 hours away cause I'm at college.

Take your life savings and put it all on red.

LOL I would crack up if a guy came to a hold'em table and tried to bet on red

I have never been very good at gambling. Is not holdem the the blackjack game you play at the crappy table and shout "Keno!!" ?

Oceanside is on Long Island, but I go to school in Troy (Albany area), so Turning Stone is about 2 hours away.

I would assume so since that is where everyone goes. All the fraternities go there, and all my friends that gamble go there. There may be one closer, but it may not be as nice, which is why everyone goes to Turning Stone.

did you call and make sure they have hold em or poker for that matter? Last time I went to the mohegan sun casino in CT, they didn't even have any poker game.
