So I have to take my kids to their mother this weekend, and Im gonna visit a friend of mine in Topeka while Im there.

Any good places to eat? Local pizza or bbq or something? I usually hate franchises. Anything else to do? West side of town near wanamaker/fairlawn would be best

thanks :)

I actually went to kansas for a vacation last year. I am a little fuzzy on the details but I the two things I remember were 1. Seeing the 3 story high painting of a Sunflower 2. Visiting the highest point in Kansas which is off some crazy backroad in the absolute middle of nowhere. They also had really huge grain silos.

I am a Kansas native in a K.C. suburb. My knowledge of Topeka is lacking, but good luck! Good food exists for sure, but Topeka is ultimately a little town in the middle of nowhere. Topeka is a bedroom community so cool stuff is a good drive away.

This year, the corn sucks! Usually the abundance of sweet corn has come and gone by now. The weather/(climate change) has reduced the corn harvest a lot. Good thing ethanol is made from food.
