Going to the Lakers v. Suns game at Staples Center tonight...

It's my fiance's 23rd birthday today, and I'm going to surprise him with tickets to tonight's Lakers v. Suns game at Staples. They were only $30 for the pair on eBay; ever since Shaq, Malone, etc. left, Lakers tickets have been so much cheaper.

His dad already gave him money to buy "World of Warcraft", so I'll be buying "Battle for Middle Earth" for him at Best Buy (not sure if it's available cheaper anywhere online). Has anyone purchased/played that yet? Is it good?

 
what is this? post everything you do message board? ok I'm gonna go to biology class right after I take a large dump. then i'm going to come home and sleep. anyone else going to sleep tonight?

im gonna sit here for a little while, then go over to another building at work and hand a secretary some papers and then turn in my timesheet.

after work I will probably go home, I was going to watch the movie FUBAR but netflix sent me Identity instead...so I'll bitch about that for a while and do some work on PhD applications while playing GTA trying to pass enough missions to get to "Vegas"

hey and "Zed's" airplane mission sucks

basically i am just passing time till sunday so i can watch the BEngals-Pats game

I've only been in box seats once, very cushy and the deliver-to-your-seat service was great 🙂 These tix are nosebleeds, unfortunately... if the section isn't full, maybe we can sneak down a few rows 😛

The hilarious part is that one could piece this entire story together by reading all of dezign's other threads asking for opinions about stuff like the Lakers, Battle for Middle Earth, etc etc.

ill agree with you on that one also! :beer: same can be said for lower floor seats. 😎

and yes, the free beer/food/snacks/being on the southern california sports report set/behind-the-scenes-of-staples were all nice perks also. 😀

Will do, we won't have time for dinner and will be going straight there... garlic fries sound like a good alternative. 😀 Any recommendations in terms of parking? I don't have a parking pass... :\
 
not sure how much of a NBA fan your bf is, but this should be a good game. The Suns are a very exciting team this year and i can imagine going to watch the Lakers is always fun.

golden rule of sporting events: if money is tight, eat BEFORE the game 😀
 
$30 bucks for lakers are not bad ... let us know if the seats were any good. The cheapest are about $10, it's actually not too bad since it's a good way to spend some time with my old man.

He loves playing/watching basketball, and watches as many NBA games as he can... I'm not too familiar with the rankings, so it's good to know the Suns are doing well. Hopefully this will be a good game, thanks for the feedback iamme... 🙂 (and money is VERY tight, good call... we'll probably pick something up before the game and maybe splurge on those yummy-sounding garlic fries when we're there)

Will do, I'll report back tomorrow... (can you bring in cameras?) I didn't know you could buy Lakers tix for $10/ea, is that the direct cost from Ticketmaster? For the nosebleed nosebleed seats?

I was fortunate enough to go to a playoff game a few years ago against the Kings. We had a free dinner before the game and box seats. The hospitality was amazing! I like it when the desert cart comes around half time. The free beer is nice also!
 
I don't get it. You start this post talking about going to a lakers game, and then somehow tie that into buying a computer game for some guy? I can't follow the logic there. And I certainly don't follow the logic of going to a lakers game when the clippers are obviously where all the talent is it.

True that!! Been to 4 Laker games in the box suite; one was against Phoenix, two against Sacramento, one against Portland

the suites are AWESOME!!!!!!

not to sound cliche, but it sort of is. esp bc of the motivation to play due to the fact you are going to have to pay regardless.
