Why di you necessarily have to pick up anything. I mean, you can pick up the same goods where you live (electronics). Of course, you could get a Japanese cell phone (big one with built-in TV) but I think it may not be available in Taiwan and may not work correctly where you live.

Electronics purchased in Taiwan aren't necessarily cheaper than the States. I went there two years ago and I found NOTHING. I went to Hong Kong also and they have goods that aren't sold here but they're weren't very cheap. Plus, the return policies aren't as nice as here.

I am pretty sure that the only reason people go to southeast asia is to have sex with boys.

When the hell did Taiwan be considered part of southeast asia?
When they hired preteen boy prostitues.
Why exactly do you know about these pre-teen boy prostitutes? Sorry to break it to you but Taiwan and Thailand are two different countries -- even if they start with the same letter.

I think that may be partially right. I mean, that stuff exists everywhere. But quantity differs. If in some country that starts with a 'T' you may see this stuff at every corner (though not sure since I never went there) in some more civilized place this is kept highly secret.

my mandarin is rusty... does that say buy a younger wife or somthin??

Yup you are right....actually "shia lao Po" literally means little wife....but it's a slang in mandarin for your second wife or mistress.
