I dread it every year. I almost wish she'd change jobs so I might get a shot at going to a work x-mas party that had interesting people and good food.

lol. Sucks to be you. We hold our xmas party during work hours. No booze, but it gets the unpleasantness out of the way during the day.

Get loaded up with alcohol and people watch. Embarass your spouse enough with lewd comments to her boss and strong words to her co-workers and chances are she will never invite you again. You can do eeeet!

LOL. This was our compromise. She has like 5 of these types of parties/dinners for her work, i only go to this one and maybe one other and skip the rest.

Had ours last week. semi-formal and all.

I refused to go and did not bring my signif other.

Monday morning and the gossip was in full effect. Why I never go!

Our party is tonite, and as the boss even I hate it, but it has now become a tradition and it lives on even though I have tried to kill it.

Ours is during the day to spare our spouses this task.Though there is a group of us who plan on getting together for dinner and a gift exchange but we're all also friends outside of work:)

Event does not meet minimum requirements to be defined as a "party".

We have an open bar every year, no limits.:D

Ours is formal and my girlfriend was the one who sent the RSVP. So I guess I'm being drug along to my own?

My wifes is next Friday and is formal.

Heard they give away Plasma and LCD TV's and all sorts of other crap also, plus it's supposed to be good food and liquor so it might not be bad after all.

Mine is during the day for exactly one hour, and then I'm sure most people stay an extra hour to get their work done. My last job had a catered dinner with open bar and then drinks on the boss at the local pub afterward. It was awesome.

My work Chrstmas party is at my boss's house. He invites everyone over then plays games where we get points, then he auctions stuff off that he got for free from vendors or got as a gift and didn't want.

Then they play board games.

It's really sad.
