The M520 is the cheapest at $49.99 - the Katana and Upstage are both in my price range, and the Moto Q9c has a qwerty keyboard, but is the most expensive at $149.99. The Palm Centro has neither GPS nor voice dialing, and I don't necessarily need a music phone, though it wouldn't hurt.

I'm leaning towards the Q9c, but I'm not sure it's worth another $100 over the M520..

Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated!

I dont think I could possibly live without my mogul. Totally worth the money and, in fact, I'm posting from it now.

I have a hard time spending $400 for a phone...$300 best-case, if the rebate comes back.

Employee has the Upstage - worked well at first then started getting buggy. Okay reception.
Moto Q9C - I went to take a look at it when I bought my Curve - didn't see anything special about it. Also, the OS can be buggy and you constantly have to "Kill programs" which is similar to Task Manager. Get it at your own risk.

I looked at a couple of Blackberries (?), but they require a minimum of a $30 BB plan on top of the normal charge, which doubles the rate..

I decided on the q9c, then went to order and it's no longer available. So, I'm looking at the Samsung ACE and Palm Treo 755p...

I'm seriously considering the Curve, but now that the instinct is 129, it's very tempting as well.

Unless they updated it from the Moto Q, I would stay away. I currently have the Q and now after 2 years locks up for ~10 min for no reason (about 11 am daily actually), randomly restarts, and routinely has program issues.

Wow..I'm glad you mentioned that- I hadn't seen it yet. I'm researching it a bit, but I may spring for this one..only problem is I'd have to get the unlimited plan - $100/mo is a bit pricey for a phone..

Should only be $69.99 plus taxes per month for the 450 minute plan, $99.99 for unlimited everything which is still a good deal if you talk a lot. I'm on the 450 minute plan since I don't talk a lot on my phone and since I work a lot of overtime, I can use my work phone for any outbound calls I like. Still, unlimited text, unlimited data, unlimited Sprint Navigation (Which works extremely well), Sprint TV, etc - no other provider can touch the pricing and features Sprint has to offer (In my opinion)

Comparing to the $30 SERO plan, it's pricey...

I don't really need navigation, but how's the Sprint Music service? Can you d/l to PC, or just listen from the phone..?

If youre looking at a multimedia phone, Instinct is probably the way to go. If you need ANY kind of smartphone features, the Curve is absolutely bulletproof.

I'm tempted just to drop the 100 bucks on the unlimited everything plan, but I have a tough time dropping that much monthly on a phone..

I'll take a look at the Instinct- thanks!

Why not just get the one for $69.99? Are you planning on using more than 450 anytime minutes? Also, to answer your question about Sprint Music. I did use it on my old flip phone and it was fine. Downloaded quick and high quality music. As far as downloaded to a computer, I never did try it.

Edit: To answer your question, songs are .99 and you can download it to your phone and PC.

I'm not sure how much I'll use- my family has US Cellular, so I'll lose the unlimited mobile calling. As far as why not..well, the additional $40-70/mo over the 500min SERO plan has something to do with it..lol

How about if I wanted to stay within the bounds of the cheapest SERO contract. What would be the best cell phone from sprint? And what model is the curve, I don't seem to see it with my area code.

It's not? The $30/500 plan? Since when?

And the model is 8330.

Since I tried to order it a week or two ago..? Unless I was missing something, but I don't think so..

Is the website down for anybody else?

I'm loving mine so far - the buttons are a bit small, but if they were any bigger, the phone would be huge.

I had to add the BB data plan (additional $30), which killed the deal for me- hence the Centro. :)

Got it. It certainly does kill the deal for many, but I was just correcting the statement its not available on the 30/500 plan. I dont have a BB, but you have to put it in perspective. $60/mo including a BB data plan is a steal compared to other carriers. Plus, the BB is absolutely bulletproof. It is the arguably the most stable, feature rich PDA on he market.

But anyway. Centro is nice too and awesome it works for you :)

Perhaps I should've rephrased- it's not available with the $30/500 plan alone. ;)

I'm quite happy with it so far- already had a guy at work order one, and he loves it..said he's called all his friends already and told them about the plan..lol
