Going to San Francisco on Tuesday!

Any tips? I think we are going to ride on a trolley and that's all that's planned so far! We (GF is picking me up) plan on eating and then just driving into sanfran and maybe going to a museum or something. Who knows! Any suggestions?

Theres lots of places you can go to, theres always fisherman's wharf and pier 39 where you can get some good seafood. If you're feeling adventurous you can venture into the castro and the haight, its very festive during this time of the year and theres lots of cool little shops that you can go into. Another option is chinatown, always interesting for people not from san francisco 🙂

chinatown sounds cool, the warf is what my GF mentioned (peir 39) but it's funny because she's afraid of fish 😉

If you do go to pier 39 you can check out the sea lions. Most of them just sleep but there are some intense battles for females and rafts occaisionally.

Check ourt Angel Island and Alcatraz. Also take a trip across the Golden Gate bridge and check out Saulsolito

Pier 39 is really fun, and if you walk around that area at night you are bound to find some weird people on the streets. The Ghiradelli (sp?) place is pretty neat too

One of my favorite restaurants in SF is House of Prime Rib. I highly suggest it. Get dessert at Ghiradelli Square afterwards.

I dunno why tourists wanna go to chinatown. It's so ghetto, what's worth seeing there?

Marina Green, Twin Peaks, and a ferry ride along the Bay are probably the best places for :camera: .

1. pier 39. definitely walk around as it is the most lively pier of them all. there is also an "underwater" experience thing there that might be fun. i've been there once and it was a typical aquarium.
2. CHINATOWN! grab some dim sum and buy those awesome SF souvenirs.
3. golden gate bridge. DRESS WARM. it is freaking cold at that bridge, and windy as heck.
4. museums/etc - i like the exploratorium. i also like the steinhart aquarium as they have PENGUINS!
5. cable cars are fun. you can take them all over town (sorta.) you can take them into the shopping district (union square) and it goes around through chinatown methinks.
6. lombard st - the most crooked street in the world!

if you're only going to be there for a day, plan accordingly.

I took a bike tour. You rent bikes near Fisherman's Wharf. You then bike over the Golden Gate Bridge and into Sausalito. Sausalito is a pretty small, yuppy town. You can then take a ferry back to Fisherman's Wharf.

There are a lot of hills, but I was a beginner and didn't have too much of a problem.

You get to see a lot of SF that way.

Bring your raingear.... the storm that's coming in tonight is supposedto be gone on Tuesday... but you never know....
If you have a car.... go across the GG bridge to the Marin Headlands for the uber cool angle on the GGBridge photo. THEN have a cruise through the old Presidio. If no rain, you can walk among the old Sutro Bath Ruins and then make dinner at either The Cliff House ( newly renovated) or The Beach Chalet (great beer selection )
Both are facing the Ocean. 😉

Make it back to Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory for dessert and a walk down Fishermans Wharf / Pier 39 is better at night, imo.
The Bay Aquarium down at the far end is cool, I think and has actual aquatic flora and fuana from the Bay. I installed the sound system in the walk through tunnel for the Diver Q/A Interaction, let me know if it's still sounding OK .....😎..... Ruby Skye or Hard Rock or Bottom of the Hill or Hotel Utah for more adult beverages later that evening.....
I'm at the exact other end of the Oakland Bay Bridge.... Wave Hi.....

LOL it sounds like I could spend days here, I am getting off the plane at 1pm and then we're going to leave SF at 7pm so I don't have much time. I would book a room and stay overnight there, but we're going skiing the next day at Sierra Summet (anyone been there?) If it's raining, we will not look around, we'll just drive back to Fresno.
