Questions I have are should I get a zalman hsf or will the stock hsf be fine and should I go with the 2 40gb OEM harddrives? I have never filled up a 30gb hard drive and I am getting 2 40gb's one for the OS and programs the other for my stuff. Also, will newegg combine shipping costs? it would be awsome if they did...

Here's the list:

Any particular reason you are getting a retail CPU and the Zalman?

Might want to get the OEM CPU and save a few bucks.

n/m I will try reading more closely next time. I would suppose it would matter if you want to OC or if you wanted a more exotic looking HSF.

About the HDD, you could get a 160 GB Maxtor from Staples for $60 next week.

OEM CPU comes without thermal compound, heatsink, and a 3-year warranty.

Ahh, ok so I can get the OEM along with the Zalman, I'm just worried about how the zalman will fit in my case... What's the difference between OEM and Retail for harddrives?

EDIT: If the stock hsf and will do ok with the cooling in that case for acouple weeks or so then I'll just skip the zalman for now. What do you think?

OEM is just a drive in a plastic bag. No parts.

Retail comes with a CD, cables, screws, ect...

The retail HSF will be fine as long as you aren't going for a major overclock.

I'd get the 6800GT. I don't think the Ultra is worth the price difference.

for $20 more you could go SATA and double your storage capacity

Text

you could also lighten the load without much temp diff (maybe 1C) using this hsf instead.

Yeah, looks fine. Have a surge protector? Newegg doesn't combine shipping, it sucks.

Yup, i've got a surge protector, I wanted the 6800ultra because it will hopefully last as long as the radeon 9700 has in the long run, I don't plan on overclocking so I want the speed the ultra has, I'll cross out the zalman hsf then if the stock will be ok.

I'll read the text on SATA.

Also, for the 3200+ I found a 1mb cache one that has a clawhhammer core for cheaper but is it as good as the 512k cache with the winchester core?

Looks good except they dont have that mobo in stock and no ETA date. I know because I have been keeping an eye out for it. Monarch does have it and its like 9 bucks cheaper. I'm holding off though to see if I can get everything through newegg.

what are the max AMPS on the 3.3v,5.0v & 12.0v rails,MAX amp readings only please !

Newegg doesn't have this psu but here's a link:
http://xoxide.com/powerstream.html

I too wanted to order only from newegg but now I guess it doesn't matter seeing as they don't combine shipping costs since it's going to the same place (stupid in my opinion).

with that sys you will need at least 22 amps on the 12v rail,@ 30 amps would be better.

the link does not have specs so i could not verify.

The PSU IS the most important part in your sys, dont cut cost here !

Does anybody thinkg I should get the 3200+ with the 1mb cache and clawhammer core or just stick with the winchester?
