Ok, I'm getting half of my PC parts for Xmas from Excaliberpc.com. My Dad said that he'd let me spend $520 for half of the parts as a christmas gift. Anyway here goes (I'm tryin to get as many components as possible for $520).

Case - Lian Li PC-65 Silver with Window - $100

PSU - OCZ Modstream 520w - $123

Fan Controller - Vantec Nexus 5.25" Silver 4 Channel Controller - $20

CPU Fan - Vantec Tornado 92mm - $12.99

CPU Heatsink - Thermlaright XP-90 - $40

Thermal Material - Arctic Silver 5 - $7

HDD - 80GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA - $69

DVD-Drive - Lite-on DVD 16x SOHD167T Black - $25.99

Floppy - Mitsumi Silver Floppy - $10

Cold Cathode - Unincom Dual Blue CCFL Kit - $9.99

Cold Cathode Kit - Unincom UV Kit - $5.99

Keyboard - Logitech Elite Keyboard - $29

Total (Including Shipping) - $518.36

What do you think? BTW The Mobo/CPU/RAM are all coming from MonarchComputer. I decided to wait on those parts because their prices fluctuate most often and will probably be lower after Xmas. They include an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum, Winchester 3500+, and OCZ Rev. 2 PC3200 1GB. So how does this whole list look? Are they all compatible with each other?
Thanks

PS If you are wondering, the video card is a 9800pro that I am using currently and the sound card is an Audigy 2 ZS that I'm currently using.

looks good to me, although a 120 or 160 GB drive would probably be a minimal price increase for the extra space (you may need it with games getting over 4 GB each)

EDIT never mind i didnt see the budget at first

Case - Lian Li PC-65 Silver with Window - $100 (NICE*)

PSU - OCZ Modstream 520w - $123 OK (I would save some money here. You won't need that much power get a good PSU for under $80)

Fan Controller - Vantec Nexus 5.25" Silver 4 Channel Controller - $20 (Do you really need this? I don't think so)

CPU Fan - Vantec Tornado 92mm - $12.99 ($14.00 for HSF retail is ok unless you're planning to do some serious overclocking)

CPU Heatsink - Thermlaright XP-90 - $40 ($14.00 HSF retail is ok unless you're planning to do some serious overclocking)

Thermal Material - Arctic Silver 5 - $7 (you probably won't need this)

HDD - 80GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA - $69 (I've seen 120Gig for $50.00 on sale)

DVD-Drive - Lite-on DVD 16x SOHD167T Black - $25.99 (with the money you save from above get a DVD-RW)

Floppy - Mitsumi Silver Floppy - $10

Cold Cathode - Unincom Dual Blue CCFL Kit - $9.99 (don't really need this, you'll get sick of it sooner or later)

Cold Cathode Kit - Unincom UV Kit - $5.99 (don't really need this, you'll get sick of it sooner or later)

Keyboard - Logitech Elite Keyboard - $29 (get a wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse with the money you save)

Total (Including Shipping) - $518.36

MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum, Winchester 3500+, and OCZ Rev. 2 PC3200 1GB = $weet

Should be a rockin system with those changes

Yea, I'll need the fan controller. My friend has a Tornado and it is LOUD. And yes, I will be overclocking. That 50$ 120gb is probably ATA not SATA.

'Bout they money, it is coming out of my dad's pocket.

BTW, Edward Lee, how do you like that Tsunami case? This guy is offering me a very good deal on one at the local shop. I think about $75.

I love my Tsunami Case. The best case I've ever owned.. I've had Antec, Enermax (ewww) Dell and various generic ones . I think Lan Li and Coolmaster are good too.

For $75.00 I'd get it I paid $120.00 for mine w/o power

Sounds like you're building a race car rather than a computer.
I'm more of a Sunday driver myself.
