drive to tortilla flat - it is a blast :) it is a super curvy mountain path. if you can ride a motorcycle, you might even want to rent one and drive through there.

Bring me a pizza.

Oh, & go to the Phoenix Zoo. They have "Zoo Lights" until the first week of January. Awesome display. I believe the power company gets ½ their annual revenue from this.

Don't forget the pizza.

You can also take a trip up to Sedona for "Los Abrigados", more Christmas lights, but it's a contest between the residents that live there, so it's pretty cool. Leave early so you can see the area during the day, they don't put it on postcards for nothing.

How's that pizza comin? Extra cheese right?

Then head on up to the Canyon, gotta see that at least once in your life. Head on over to Williams to the Deer Farm since you're there. Cheap & fun for a few hours of distraction.

Head back South, stop at Montezuma's Castle near Camp Verde (wasn't really his castle, but who cares?). Hit the Casino if you're game.

Keep goin South, stop at Cordes Junction, see Arcosanti (Some hippie community). Head West to Prescott, find just about any restaurant downtown for some great food (Murphy's comes to mind, if they're still there). Hit Whiskey Row.

Pizza....

Go back South to Phoenix, stop at the outlet malls at Anthem so the wife can shop (Nap for you).

Back in Phoenix, take the kids to Castles & Coasters, great way to blow a lot of money.

That should kill at least 2 days.

Goldfield Ghost Town is a cool place to spend a few hours. Kids would probably like it. It's about 30 miles east of Phoenix proper.

Take US 60 east to exit 196 (Hwy 88), go north on 88 (left from the exit). A bit over two miles and the road branches to the right, take this branch to stay on hwy 88. Note this is the easy branch. There is a very sharp branch before this one. A few miles later you will see the Ghost Town on your left.

Be aware that Sedona is 2 hours north of Phoenix. A few cool place to visit, though. The Grand Canyon is 4 to 4.5 hours north of Phoenix. Tucson is about 1.5 to 2 hours south of Phoenix.
