Going to P2.6-C soon, motherboard, RAM, HSF advice needed

My current base is:

PIII-S 1.4GHz @ 1.5GHz
ASUS TUV4X motherboard
Thermalright SLK-800A, 80mm Sanyo Denki Pico Ace 25
1GB of Crucial PC133 CAS2 SDRAM
TurboCool 425W

I would like to go:

P4 2.6C and get close to 3.3GHz (maybe even a 2.4C)

I am not sure on motherboard, I really don't want to cut corners here....
IC/IS7 (max3 or G versions?), P4P/C800 Deluxes....some say the 865PE is better, others the 875.....I think for 800MHz chips it's the 875???

Thermalright SLK-947U looks like my Heatsink choice....seems better than the newer SP-92 even....probably a Sanyo Denki Pico Ace equivalent in 92mm size

1GB of fast DDR, I am not sure if at 3.3GHz I will need PC4000 or not, and I have no idea what's the good O/C RAM in this arena. I'd like to go in 512MBx2 jumps so I can get to 3GB if I ever need too 🙂, but going only 1.5GB with 256MBx2 at a time maybe ok too if there is a big savings

My power supply is a 425W unit from PC Power and Cooling.....specs are:
+5V @ 40A
+12V @ 20A <---- dont know if that is too low on the 12V rail for a P4 system....I believe it should be fine, but when I had only 17A on my 3.3V rail I got inf. loop errors
-5V @ 0.3A
-12V @ 1A
+3.3V @ 40A
+5VSB @ 2A
+5 & +3.3<300W

I will be powering 3 PCI (SCSI, Wireless, Santa Cruz), Radeon 8500 (will go 9800 within 6months), 4 optical, 2 7200 HD's, 1 PCMCIA, 1 SuperDisc, 4 Case fans (80mm Silencers).

I am currently running my P4 2.6c on a Abit IS7 mobo with 2-Corsair XMS3200LL-PLT and a Zalman 7000Al-Cu HSF

If I had to do over again, I would have purchased the Abit IC7-G instead of my IS7. THe IS7 is a great board, that hasn't given me any problems. But I would have perferred the IC7-G (875)

I have a 2.6C on a Asus P4P800 Deluxe. I absolutely love it. I have been up to 3.3 Ghz, its only my memory holding me back now. This board is nice and stable and has many features. The cables and kit you get with the board are certainly deluxe. If you got with this board I am almost certain you will be happy.

I have a 2.6C on a P4C800 Deluxe, and I absolutely love it, I have been up to 3.6 ghz and back.(too hot with stock cooling, but thats why Im getting the Zalman 7000). I love this board to death. You should get it. Lol.

I have the Asus P4P800 Deluxe (865PE chipset) Intel P4 2.6C and Kingston HyperX PC3200 2x512MB. Its fast, stable, feature packed, but I havent tried o/cing yet.

The RAM is going to be the most costly part...what do I need to get my 2.4 or 2.6 into the 3GHz boundaries stable?

Does my power supply seem adequate? If not that may be the second most costly item.

Your power supply should be plenty enough, as for ram i have little idea of what to get. I suggest getting ram from the Asus qualified venders list, if you do plan to get the Asus P4P800 Deluxe. The list can be found here.

one quick note
the asus p4c800 deluxe series boards have been known to have problems booting up with the stock heatsink. the stock hs is appies too much pressure and is too tight. my suggestion: get a nice hs/fan combo if your getting this board.
